Air Cadets at 346 (Tynemouth) Squadron now have a new leader keen to take them to new heights. Pilot Officer Andy Stafford-Brown has taken command of Tynemouth Squadron after serving as second in command at 2344 (Longbenton) Squadron.
After being given the good news last week, Andy said “I was absolutely thrilled.” “I am really looking forward to taking Tynemouth Squadron to new heights, although I am sad to be leaving 2344 because the staff and cadets there are wonderful.”

Andy added “I am hoping to take some of the great ideas that I’ve picked up at Longbenton Squadron and use them on my new squadron.”
Earlier this year, Andy successfully completed a week long residential training course at RAF College Cranwell; passing out as a Pilot Officer in the Royal Air Force (Volunteer) Reserve. The course involved being assessed on leadership, attitude to learning, public presentation skills, drill, and overall qualities.
Squadron Commanding Officer at Longbenton, Flight Lieutenant Gary Richardson said: “Andy has been an excellent officer and we are very pleased for him, but equally sad to see him go. We all wish him and 346 the very best for the future.”
Anyone interested in either squadron can visit them on any Tuesday or Friday evening from 7pm to 9:30pm or visit the website www.aircadetsnorth.org
