24 members of Stockport Air Cadets have recently attended one of the Air Training Corps Regional Activity Centres (RAC) for a weekend of enjoyable activities and training. .

The RAC is the second full Regional Activity Centre in North Region. The centre allows staff to deliver the core aerospace activities (blue) but being located on a Training Camp, it is able to offer more fieldcraft and shooting activities (green).

Over the weekend they got to take part in a number of activities including weapons training, fieldcraft, leadership training and communications.  The weather was great and all the cadets had a brilliant time.

Cadet Dianna Whalley said; “I really enjoyed the weekend away, particularly the fieldcraft lessons and I can’t wait for the next camp.”

Cadet Flight Sergeant Jessica Wright, who ran the communications training said: “Its great to pass on my knowledge of radio to the rest of the cadets on the unit and could see that they really enjoyed the activities on the rest of the camp”

During the cadets also had the chance to use the state of the art flight simulator under the watchful eye of the Squadron’s two Qualified Aerospace Instructors (QAI) Cadet Warrant Officer Tom Stoddard & Cadet Sergeant Harris Maudsley.
