By Cdt Peter Maltby and Sqn MCO CI K Heywood - 750 (Thorne) Squadron

Cadet Peter Maltby has written the following about his first eight months as an air cadet with 750 (Thorne) Squadron:

In my short time as an air cadet, I have taken part in a variety of activities.  The first activity I participated in was the Thorne Remembrance Day Parade.  I have since participated in the Rosehill and Diamond Jubilee Parades.

I have also been flying twice and gliding three times.  While flying I have done a loop-the-loop and a barrel roll.  Flying is a great experience.

Also, I have been walking twice on the Womersley walk and the 20-mile Howden 20.  Before I joined cadets, the most I had walked was from front door to car.

I also recently attended the Air Operations Acquaintance Centre at RAF Linton-on-Ouse, which was a very enjoyable day.

I thoroughly enjoy the air cadets, and have done many things I would never have dreamed of doing beforehand.  I look forward to the rest of my air cadet life with anticipation.
