A Crowle Air Cadet is perhaps feeling a little blue, after being asked to represent South and West Yorkshire Wing in the North Region Athletics Competition.  For representing the Wing, Sergeant Luke Cappleman was awarded a Wing Blue.

The North Region Athletics Competition sees the 5 Wings, which make up the Region, send their best athletes to compete in various athletic disciplines.  Sergeant Cappleman was asked to represent the South and West Yorkshire Wing in the Under 17 Men’s Discus event, after attaining Silver in the inter Squadron competition earlier in the year.  He was placed 2nd, attaining a silver medal, in the Region competition.  He could now be asked to represent the Region against the rest of the country at the end of the month.

Flying Officer Docherty, 2nd in Command of Crowle Squadron said “It was great to see one of our cadets in the competition.  We believe it is the first Wing Blue for the Squadron in a few years.”  She continued “For him to achieve a Silver medal was fantastic.  We all hope he is selected to represent the Region”

Athletics and sport are just a few of the many opportunities Crowle Squadron offers to its members, both cadets and staff. Air Cadets is a youth organisation open to anyone aged 13-17. It is also open to those over 20 who wish to join as a staff and assist in the running of such events If you are interested in finding out more about Air Cadets in Crowle visit us as www.crowleaircadets.co.uk or come down to the Cadet Hut, Axholme Academy site on a Monday or Wednesday evening.
