£1621 Raised by 723 (Wigan) Sqn Female Cadets for Cancer Research

Flt Lt Grace Metha and all of the Female Cadets from 723 (Wigan) Squadron took part in the Wigan 5K Cancer Research – Race For Life. The cadets competed the 5k in good time by marching & jogging as a squad, raising a massive £1621.00
Flt Lt Metha said ”this was an exceptional team effort from our female cadets which raised so much money for a great cause”
O.C Flight Lieutenant Hugh Shields added “The cadets have done so well to achieve what they did. They worked well together, training & preparing for the event, I’m very proud of them”
This event was also supported by staff and male cadets who helped with the marshalling of the event. All the cadets received praise for being well mannered, disciplined & smart.
As a result of this The squadron has been asked to provide cadets to marshal the upcoming Wigan 10k event.
This was another great example of the Royal Air Force Air Cadets assisting in the community… Its What We Do !!!
