On Sunday 24th April, 32 Squadrons and 1 Detached Flight from Cumbria and Lancashire Wing Air Cadets took part in their annual Wing Training Day event at Kirkham Grammar School. Cadets took part in a range of competitions to test their skills, knowledge and attitudes, which were all scored and 2376 (Bamber Bridge) Squadron are Cumbria and Lancashire Wing’s, Wing Training Day Winners 2016
- First Aid - Placed First
- Shooting - Placed First
- Flight Simulator - Placed Second
- Banner Drill - Placed Third
- Foot Drill
- Aircraft Modelling
- Photographic Competition
- Balsa wood and Paper Darts
- Aircraft Recognition
The awards were presented by The North Region Commandant, Group Captain Leeming.
? Officer Commanding, Flt Lt Kevin Johnson and his staff are said to be over the moon with the result. Flt Lt Johnson said, “The Cadets have put in a lot of hard work and extra hours to get this result, it is well deserved and we are all very proud of their commitment”.
Being placed first means that the First Aid and Shooting teams now go forward to represent the Wing at the Regional Training Day later in the year; hopefully with similar results.
Other activities that Cadets take part in as part of the cadets are;
- Radio use
- Duke of Edinburgh awards (Bronze, Silver and Gold)
- Flying and Gliding
- Sports, such as Rugby, Football, Netball, Hockey, Swimming, Water Sports.
- Camping, Hill Walking, High Ropes, Mountain Biking Etc
- Cadets can also be seen at events such as Remembrance Parades, Bag Packing and Penwortham Gala.
