Outside the Corps, Leah is an assistant leader with her local church youth group, working with 3-12 year olds. Amongst the activities she leads are: painting, baking, origami, quizzes and games.
Her Squadron Commander, Flight Lieutenant Peter Doubell said “Cadet Warrant Officer Silvester is an exemplary cadet with a sound record of achievement and who is an excellent representative and ambassador for her Squadron, Wing and the wider Air Cadet Organisation. She is an individual who never fails to make a favourable impression and has been an outstanding example of what the young people of Mirfield can aspire to, gaining positive recognition from both within the wider cadet organisation and outside, for instance when accompanying a Deputy Lieutenant for West Yorkshire to a Citizenship Ceremony. She is a confident, articulate and intelligent young lady, whose appearance, personality and outgoing nature make her particularly well suited to be a Mirfield Ambassador in the truest sense, I am thrilled and proud of this honour for her.”
The local Air Cadet Squadron meets at the Air Cadet Centre in Mirfield on Huddersfield Road near the Stocks Bank Road junction, on Tuesday and Friday evenings. For more information please visit or contact Flt Lt Peter Doubell on 01924 498 896.
