Royal Air Force Air Cadets from 145 (Altrincham & Hale) Squadron recently took part in a multi activity weekend camp at Altcar Army Training Camp, Liverpool. The camp was organised and overseen by qualified staff and played host to over 20 cadets from the squadron who participated in a number of activities including orienteering, sports, flight simulator, fieldcraft, drill and much more. Some of the cadets were away from home for the first time and took part in valuable first aid tasks, leadership exercises and physical activities - all skills for everyday life.
Cadet Sergeant Lauren Gage from 145 Squadron said, "We have all thoroughly enjoyed this camp and the variety of activities available to us all. Opportunities such as these allow us a chance to learn valuable life skills and to develop strong friendships. Itís great fun! "
Air Cadets is available to boys and girls aged from 12 years upwards and the opportunities are endless. Not only learning about the Royal Air Force but also to have the chance to go flying, gliding, shooting, gain BTEC qualifications, be part of the Squadron's sports team, to take part in the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme and much more.
We'd also like to meet any adults who also have an interest in aviation, music or with skills that would help benefit our young people and to be able to give them the chance for some "hands on" training.
If you would like to register your interest or for more information, the Squadron is open on Monday and Thursday evenings from 7pm to 9.30pm, 0161 283 3085, email email@example.com or Twitter @AltyAirCadets
