Mr Edmund Hall joined 1151 (Wallsend) Squadron in 1947 as a cadet. He returned to the unit in 1968 as a member of the Civilian Committee. Three years later he moved on to 131 (City of Newcastle) Squadron as a member of the Committee there. During his time with 131 he served the young people of the area as the Civilian Committee Chairman, Secretary and Treasurer standing in for other members whenever needed. In 2014 Mr Hall returned to 1151 a took up a position as a committee member helping to maintain the efficient and effective running of the unit.
His many years of outstanding service were rewarded by the presentation of the “Certificate of Meritorious Service” awarded by The Commandant Air Cadets, Air Commodore Dawn McCafferty and presented by Flt. Lt Yarrow, the Officer Commanding 1151 (Wallsend) Squadron along with other members of the Committee.
1151 squadron parades on Tuesday and Thursday evenings form 19.00 (7 pm) onwards and is looking for recruits from the age of 13 onwards.
