Bishop Auckland Air Cadets Receive Awards

On Thursday 3rd December, 2505 (Bishop Auckland) Squadron of the Royal Air Force Air Cadets held their annual presentation evening with parents and guests in the Reserve Forces Centre, Bishop Auckland. During the evening nine outstanding cadets were recognised with squadron awards by the Mayor, Cllr Lee Brownson.
The awards included recognition of outstanding achievements in leadership, personal development, engagement in adventurous activities, community involvement and transference of skills learnt in the cadets to the wider community.
One award winner, Cadet Corporal Rachael Dunkeld (14) from Binchester said “It was a real surprise to win the most improved cadet award, it was a great evening and fantastic for my parents to be here”.
The Mayor of Bishop Auckland, Cllr Lee Brownson said; "It was a great honour to be able to present the awards to the young cadets on their individual achievements. The formal parade and demonstrations were beautiful and I'd like to congratulate them all and wish them the very best for their futures."
