Pudsey Squadron Air Cadets have competed in their first ever National Band competition. The Band, which was only formed in February of this year, travelled RAF Halton, Buckinghamshire on 22 November to complete with the best bands from around the country.
The band’s dedication and determination has seen them progress through local and regional competitions to reach the national finals. After a gruelling competition, Pudsey’s band was placed second in the Corps, a remarkable feat as they have only one qualified musician, with the rest complete novices!
Squadron Leader Steve Dunn, officer commanding Pudsey Squadron said “it is a massive achievement for such a new and young band to reach the top six in the country they have worked so hard and put in many hours of practice I am very proud of them, they recently lead the remembrance parade in Pudsey for the Royal British Legion”.
