Youngsters from Longbenton Community College and George Stephenson High School enjoyed an adventure day as the took-off with the 2344 Offer.
The youngsters aged 12 – 14 enjoyed a fun-packed, mud-filled day with 2344 (Longbenton) Squadron Air Cadets.
They were able to test their nerve at height as they scaled climbing walls, hit their targets in archery, displayed key teamwork skills in an obstacle course and enjoyed a relaxing snow-tubing session!
“It was great fun!” said 12 year-old Leo Allan, of Killingworth.
Leo said, “All of the activities were mint but the obstacle course had to be the best because we got to compete against each other and we all got completely covered in mud!”
Squadron Development Officer, Pilot Officer David Anderson, said, “The 2344 Offer is something that our young people have created for their peers at school and in the community.
“The Adventure Day allowed the young people to gain an insight into a few of the many adventurous activities we do as well as developing and gaining new skills in a new and exciting environment.”
“All of the young people did incredibly well,” said David.
