On the 13th of September, the 148 (Barnsley) Sqn band and standard attended the Sector 2 parade in Doncaster to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the Battle of Britain. Over a hundred cadets attended from Sector 2 along with special guests.
The parade formed up to do a march past outside the Hangar. Air Vice-Marshal Alan Johnson MB ChB FFOM MFCM DavMed FRAeS RAF (Retd) took the salute and was also the reviewing officer of the parade. Shortly after that parade had finished, the cadets and band both entered the hangar for the service which was led by Revd Neil Redeyoff.
Accompanying the parade, our band played a selection of music led by our Band Master CI Graham Ackrill. This was our second parade of the day, it was a very busy day for the Squadron!
It was a great pleasure to take part in the parade again this year and we are looking forward to next years.
