On Saturday 20th June myself and other cadets from 148 (Barnsley) Squadron attended the annual Wakefield Armed Forces Day held at Nostell Priory.
We set up the flight simulator in a tent on the field so people could come and try their hand at flying and earn themselves a future pilots sticker that we gave to the young people that had a go at flying on the flight simulator.
In addition there were three other tents set up by other squadrons from Sector advertising what activities the air cadets do, such as archery, radio and shooting. There was many activities around the event like rock climbing set up by the Army Cadets, paintball shooting range set up by the Army as well as many other stands.
It was a great event and it was a privilege to represent the ATC and show our support for all those involved with the armed services past and present.
