On Saturday the 21st February I went to the Vulcan Member’s Day at RAF Finningley.
I was asked by Jane and Malcolm Thomas who are Co-Chairs for the Vulcan Trust to give a speech about my passion for the Vulcan and all things in aviation. I am lucky that I have friends at The Vulcan Trust, I have been around the Vulcan since I was 8 years old. I was thrilled, yet slightly nervous to be asked to give the speech in front of around 350 people who are members of the Vulcan Club and trust.
On the day of the event I gave my speech in the Vulcan hangar in front Vulcan XH558, speaking about my interest in aviation from an early age, and how that has progressed into a cadet career. I was extremely nervous at first, but once I stood on the stage, I started to feel a little more comfortable.
After the speech which lasted around 7 minutes, I spoke to my audience and answered any questions that they had. I then had the privilege to meet lots of members after plenty of hand-shaking and book signing.
It was a great experience and a thrilling day, I made friends with some very influential people.
It was an unforgettable experience that I will always remember.
