Recently 148 (Barnsley) Squadron attended the 2015 Wing Training at RAF Linton-On-Ouse.
The last couple of months have been very busy for the Squadron, we have had the Regional Commandant – Group Captain Steve Harpum and the Assistant Regional Commandant Sqn Ldr Sue Gossow visit the Squadron to inspect us for the Lees Trophy and we also formed the guard of honour for Her Majesty the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh for the Maundy Service at Sheffield Cathedral, despite this the Cadets have still been training for the annual Wing Training Day. The Squadron was lucky enough to have Cadets in every event on the day and the Squadron is thrilled with their efforts and the results.
The Squadron Marching Band performed a display which included a new piece which they had learned to play for the competition. The Band Master CI Graham Akrill worked hard with the band to be ready for the competition and train some new musicians who have joined the band. The Squadron also competed in first aid, flight sim, drill, banner drill and aero modelling.
On the final parade Wing Commander Daniel read out the results from all the competitions and the Cadets hard work was rewarded with some excellent results!
