As part of the media competition entry for the Greater Manchester Wing Training Day cadets at 162 (Stockport) Squadron were asked to create a two minute film that detailed the life of a relative of one of our cadets. The film was to be titled “A Century On – Remembering the Fallen”
Cadet Joshua Fairclough is the great grandson of George Faiclough who was a Corporal in the Royal Field Artillery and was killed in action.
Prior to service in the Army George was Police Officer in the Salford City Police and recently Greater Manchester Police unveiled a memorial to George and the other Police Officers who paid the ultimate sacrifice during the Great War.
Stockport Air Cadets is thriving! Girls and boys from 12 years of age have the chance to do many activities including visits to RAF stations, flying, adventure training & the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award.
