A detachment of 1301 (Fleetwood) Squadron, Air Training Corps, paraded at Agnew Road. (The detachment was representative of the whole squadron. The squadron's other offcers, civillian instructors and cadets were away on other duties).
The squadron came to celebrate 'Air Cadet Sunday' to celebrate the corp 74th anniversary since its formation. 'Air Cadet Sunday' is celebrated nationally and members of all cadet units attend parades around the UK to commemorate the beginning of the 'Air Cadets' and to remember all the cadets through the years.
In charge of the cadets was Warrant Officer Steve Brown. Both standards were carried by Cdt Whitmore and Cdt Farrell. The service was conducted by the squadron's padre, Tom Birch, who was assisted with readings by: W/O Brown, Cdt Farrell, Cdt McCann and Cdt Briggs. The organist, who added much to the service, was George Beever.
Overall, all attendees thoroughly enjoyed it and a wonderful service was held with refreshments served afterwards.
