Cadets had a very different parade night as cadets from 1114 are treated to a visit to the Northumbria Police Firearms Training Centre.

On Monday 9th February 2015 the cadets and staff from 1114 (Gosforth) squadron were given a guided tour of the Northumbria Police Firearms Training Centre. Cadets started the night looking around the training centres fantastic facilities and then a look on one of the firing ranges. They had the chance to see all the usual equipment carried on... an Armed response vehicle and the equipment firearms officers use on a day to day basis.

The evening concluded with a demonstration of the judgemental room where various simulated scenarios could be played and the cadets put through their paces recollecting the scenarios played to them.

The evening was a great success and thoroughly enjoyed by all of the cadets and staff who attended. This hopefully marks the first of many visits to the unit by the cadets and staff.
