On Sunday 11th January 2015, cadets from 2431 (Keighley) Squadron ATC took part in the Annual Wing Cross Country Competition.

The event was held at RAF Linton-on-Ouse, near York and consisted of a 3km (1.8 miles) track around the base.

The race was tough, but we all had an enjoyable time seeing cadets we already knew and making new friends.

Overall, 2431 (Keighley) Squadron ATC, did really well.

Cdt Rankin came 1st in the first boy’s race with Cdt Greenwood coming 2nd in the second boys’ race.

The girls came 3rd in their race as a team.

More importantly, every cadet finished their race, meaning that our Squadron came 3rd in the overall event. This proves that team work really does work.

We had a great day and thanks must be given to CI’s King and Howe for providing transport and for all of their encouragement throughout the day.

We hope to return next year and improve on our already amazing achievement.
