On the 25th of October a number of 148 (Barnsley) Squadron Cadets attend the Barnsley Football Club match against Bristol City to sell poppies for the Royal British Legion (RBL).
We met at 12 o’clock at Squadron and then we made our way down to the Barnsley Football Club ground where we met the Barnsley Sea Cadets and the representative from the RBL. We were put into small groups and placed around the ground and given our poppies to sell. Many Barnsley and Bristol City fans purchased a poppy!
The poppy is a powerful symbol. It is worn to commemorate the sacrifices of our Armed Forces and to show support to those still serving today and their loved ones. This year marks the centenary of the start of one of the costliest conflicts in our history, we are very proud to show our unequivocal support for the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal.
