Cadet Sergeant Joshua Rawstron attended the Limey Valley Residents Association Summer Fete to receive the 2014 Achievement Shield from the Mayor of Rossendale Councillor Thomas Aldred.
The Trophy was donated to 1969 Rossendale Squadron by LVRA after the help that the squadron provided at last years event.
It was presented to Sgt Rawstron, who in the last twelve months has attended all activities that the Squadron has participated in, including the Bacup Carnival, the Ramsbottom 40's Weekend, and a Bag Pack event in a local Morrison's Store in Bacup to mention only a select few.
As a Senior NCO on squadron the staff have had to call on his experience to run some of the activities on parade nights due to lack of staff availability. He has done this without question and on more than one occasion without any planning time - so he has had to think on his feet to come up with activities to keep the cadets occupied for full evenings.
Sgt Rawstron as well as training the other cadets and the Junior NCO's, has also taken it upon himself to complete his Senior and Master Cadet classifications in his own tme. His attendance level on normal parade nights has been exemplary to the other cadets in the squadron, and he leads by example in everything he does, which is why for 2014 he has been awarded with the Achievement Trophy.
Well done from all the staff and your fellow cadets.
