Recently Cadet Corporal Robert Lloyd, Cadet Lewis Filtness and Cadet Oliver Charlesworth from 2388 (Castleford) Squadron gained their Bronze Duke of Edinburgh’s award. The award took a total of six months to complete which took a lot of hard work and dedication from each cadet to complete.
This prestigious award consists of four sections, voluntary service, skill, physical and the expeditions which required the group to work together to complete the journey on foot over two days and one night under canvas. The group walked a total of 25 kilometres over each expedition weekend and each award consists of a practice and an actual expedition.
Flight Lieutenant Williamson, Officer Commanding of 2388 Squadron said “I am very proud of each of the cadets as I know they have put in a lot of hard work, time and effort into gaining the award”.
After completing the bronze award the cadets can now move onto the Silver level of the scheme.
