From the 5th to the 12th of April, myself and 3 other cadets from 148 Squadron attended Annual Wing camp at RAF Northolt.
We all participated in many activities and also made a lot of visits both within and outside the base. We visited Air Traffic Control, Bomb Disposal and Windsor Castle. Also a few memorials and quite a lot of other places.
I particularly found the visit to the Queen’s Colour Squadron interesting as we watched a presentation on what they do.
In our spare time we did many leisure activities such as bowling and swimming. It was great fun, and I made many new friends during camp. I even managed to pass my basic proficiency for swimming, as did many others. We also took a trip to London to watch the changing of the guard at Buckingham Palace and also went on the London Eye and a river cruise.
My favourite part was looking into the historic side of things, the history of Northolt during WW2 and the general history of the RAF. Northolt is a great camp and I’d be delighted to go again!
