Air Cadets from Askern, Goole and the band from Mosborough Squadron played a key part in the recent Askern Gala.  The cadets formed a major part of the opening parade thought the town, before completing 2 circuits around the boating lake before the event was formally opened.

The event is held annually and sees the whole Askern Community come together for a day of fun and entertainment.  The Askern Air Cadets have formed a key part of this over the past few years and have become an integral part of the initial parade and the event itself, having a stall to raise awareness of the Air Cadets in the local community.

Civilian Instructor Alfred Taylor said “The cadets looked really smart.  The whole Squadron is proud of them, they put on a really good show for the Town”.
This was picked up by Squadron Leader Iain Kirk, Officer Commanding Sector 2, South and West Yorkshire Wing “A great turn out.  They did the Sector proud”
