On Sunday 1st June 2014 cadets from 1114 went to the North Region Athletics Competition. This was as a result of the fantastic efforts put in at the Wing athletics by cadets of 1114. There fantastic efforts gave them overall 2nd place. A number of cadets from 1114 were then selected to represent the wing alongside colleagues for other squadrons in the wing to for the wing team....

Our cadets from 1114 brought home some fantastic results some have even been selected to represent North Region at Corps level. There contributions and hard work over the day ensured Durham and Northumberland wing secured a place on the podium coming 3rd.

Our results were as follows:-

Cpl Jasmin Pike won the discus and will go on to represent the Region at Corps level

Cpl Josh Vince-Urwin, who won the 100m, 200m and long jump! He has also been selected for the North Region Team.

Cdt Amy Bosomworth also managed to win silver in the 1500m

Well done to our other cadets from 1114 and other Squadrons also taking part in the competition your efforts have also contributed to this great overall result.

This adds to the on going success and fantastic results that the cadets of 1114 are achieving. The squadron will this month compete at regional level for First aid after coming 1st place at the Wing Competitions day. CWO Megan Taylor will also represent the wing after scoring 1st Place for her aeromodeling Competition entry. In previous months we had cadets who succeeded in the Wing Cross country representing the Wing at Region.

The Squadron Commanding Officer Flight Lieutenant Aaron O'Roarty said "I am immensely proud of the success the cadets at 1114 are having. Their efforts are commendable and are the reward for the hard work they are putting in. I am proud to see our cadets to go forward to represent the wing and the region, Well Done!".
