During April/May 2014, Cadet Fox from 2431 (Keighley) Squadron ATC, attended RAF Cosford to take part in a Road Marching event. This is how he said he got on:
I had built up to these 2 days for the last 6 months and joined the Central and East Yorkshire Wing Road Marching Team at RAF Cosford. The team was split up into 2 groups, a 20km and a 40km group. I was part of the 20km group.
We marched a total of 25 miles over the course of the weekend. At the end of the second day we were honoured to have a small display from the RAF BBMF Spitfire based at RAF Conningsby. This display was followed by the presentation ceremony. The ceremony contained a chance for us to celebrate our achievement, be awarded our medals and a speech from the Station Commander of RAF Cosford.
I hope to return to Cosford in 2015 and complete the 40km march. This would lead onto taking part in the Nijmegen marches that last a total of 4 days.
