Sunday 11 May 2014. Ten cadets from Holmfirth set off early for the journey to RAF Linton on Ouse, in a self drive hire mini bus driven by Flt Lt Kirsty Piccavey, to take part in the South and West Yorkshire Wings, Wing Training Day.
There were various competitions throughout the day.
The Banner Drill team members were Sgt Leah Kenworthy, Cpl William Bramfitt, Cpl Alex Crellin, Cpl Aiden Sykes, Cpl Craig Collis Langford.
The Aircraft Recognition team members were Cpl William Bramfitt, Cdt Thomas Deakin and Cdt Bethany Knapton.
The Flight simulator team were Cpl Alex Crellin and Cpl Aiden Sykes.
Models were entered by Cdt Thomas Deakin and Cpl Matthew Parkes.
The cadet First Aid Team members were Cdt Carl Sykes, Cdt Brandon Mclean,Cdt Bethany Knapton and Cdt Molly Doyle.
At the end of the day there was a final parade with our Wing Commander Brian Daniel presenting trophies to the winning teams and individuals. It was fantastic to see so many Cadets and Staff all on parade together.
Comment by Flt Lt Kirsty Piccavey “I am extremely proud of my cadets for committing their time and effort preparing for and attending this years competition. I know that the team put lot of extra hours into making models and attending Banner Drill practice sessions in their own time away from squadron.Congratulations in your success’”
