Twelve air cadets are celebrating after studying hard to pass their first aid certificate and badge.
They took a 16 hour training course delivered by experienced first aid trainer staff member Flight Sergeant Kevin Hawkins before undergoing assessment. Gladly, after all their studies and practical drills, the assessor Wing First Aid Officer Flight Sergeant Daniel Rouse deemed them all very competent to pass the St John's Ambulance Youth First Aider Course and Heartstart courses. The cadets have since proudly sewn their red badges on their uniform brassards.
An excellent life skill to have, it is good to know that these young people now have the ability to deal with any first aid emergencies. So anybody near the 2490 (Spen Valley) Squadron Air Training Corps will be surrounded by safe hands!
