FS Lowe, Cpls Addison, Armstrong and Stewart and Cdt Hastie from 1407 (Newton Aycliffe) Squadron joined with cadets from 2505 (Bishop Auckland) Squadron at Chopwell Woods where they successfully completed their Bronze NNAS assessment.
The National Navigation Award Scheme is a personal performance, non-competitive, incentive scheme for all ages to learn navigation skills and gain confidence to get out and enjoy the countryside. During the day the cadets demonstrated the navigation skills they had gained, along with their knowledge of the country code, access rights and emergency procedures. They worked well as a team, especially when relocating after having gotten (intentionally) lost. The day, which with help from the sun was very enjoyable, will surely prove invaluable as they embark on their upcoming Duke of Edinburgh's Award Expeditions.
