On Tuesday 28th January 2014 a former top cadet from 1053 (Armthorpe) Squadron attained the coveted ‘Edexcel BTEC Level 2 Diploma in Public Services’. The former Cadet Flight Sergeant, Hayley Sutcliffe, achieved a ‘Merit’ pass.
After the presentation by OIC WO (ATC) ‘Taff’ Jenkins, Squadron CVQO Officer, CI Rob Wenban said, “The Squadron is very proud of Hayley’s efforts. BTEC certificates are nationally recognised qualifications and the culmination of two year’s dedicated work. She studied and passed units in ‘Public Service Skills’, ‘Career Planning for the Public Services’, Improving Health and Fitness for Entry to the Uniformed Public Services’, ‘Employment in the Uniformed Public Services’, ‘Adventurous Activities and Teamwork for the Public Services’, ‘Land Navigation by Map and Compass’, ‘Expedition Skills in Public Services’ and ‘Volunteering in Public Services’.
The 2013/14 cohort has already started this year’s course and six cadets have already completed their ‘Workbook 1’s! Hayley was an outstanding cadet and it was good to see her again tonight. We wish her well in her University studies.”
