The 13 to 16 year old cadets are undertaking the St John Ambulance Young First Aider Award. The course provides a basic introduction to first aid. It gives the cadets grounding in managing an incident and the most commonly needed first aid skills. The team helped marshal the Ravenscar checkpoint where they provided the walkers with refreshments, support and guidance. It was also a perfect opportunity for the squadron to make use of their new radio sets paid for by squadron funds and public donations. The evening at Morrisons was particularly profitable with a total of almost £350 being raised in just two hours. The money raised is being used to buy equipment to enable the cadets to take part in a wide range of activities.
