On Sunday 6th September 2009, seventy years after the start of World War 2 and 69 years after the Battle of Britain, a special parade and service was held at the Yorkshire Air Museum at Elvington near York to commemorate both events. Over 300 cadets and staff from Central and East Yorkshire Wing and South and West Yorkshire Wing played a prominent and important role in the day.
