Congratualtion to Cdt King who was selected to represent North Region at the Rugby championships held at RAF Cranwell. Cdt King was awarded with a North Region Blue, this is a great achievement.

RAF Cosford WARMA

Congratulations to Cdt FS Khawaja and Cdt Sgt McCrudden who have completed the RAF 2 Day Warma. They have both successfully qualified for the Nijmegen marches. The walk consisted of 25 miles each day. This is a great achievment, they both recommend it to all cadets.

Easter Cadet Leadership Course (ECLC)

Cdt FS Khawaja and Cdt Sgt McCrudden were selected to attend a Cadet Leadership Course with the Army Cadet Force at Nescliffe Training Camp. The week long course included section battle attacks, platoon attacks, command tasks, blank round firing, orders and many more leadership exercises.

Marksmanship Badge

Congratulations to Cdt McCrudden on being awarded a Squadron Marksmanship badge. Cdt McCrudden fired 20 rounds on an air rifle and successfully met the squadron marksman criteria. A fantastic effort.

Congratulation to Cdt Cpl Johnson who has earned his yellow lanyard by passing the MOI (method of instruction) Course on Wing Training Weekend. He is now eligible to teach cadets to the best of his ability. Well done.

Cross Country Success

Cross Country Success - On the 22nd of February Cadets King and Yeates represented Greater  Manchester Wing in Cross Country at Blackburn. As part of a team effort, the wing placed first in the North Region competition. A further congratulations to Cadet Yeates who successfully placed 4th and will now represent North Region at the Corps competition.

Commonwealth Flag

184 Squadron was given a fantastic opportunity to fly the commonwealth flag as requested by Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II. It was an honourable event to take part in as we were the only squadron in North Region to be given the honour. Thank you to the cadets and staff members that took part in this memorable event.

Aviation Camp

11 Cadets attended an Aviation weekend at RAF Topcliffe on the 23rd-25 January. The camp consisted of lectures, sports, leadership exercises and section visits. The cadets were told about what happens at a gliding squadron and had a broader knowledge on aviation at the end of the weekend It was a great first camp for our new cadets. A big thank you to 635 Volunteer Gliding Squadron and Flying Officer Warner.

Congratulations to Cadet Flight Sergeant Khawaja who has been selected to be Greater Manchester Wings Dacre Sword Nomination. He was given this nomintation as part of is fantastic commitment to the corps. This award is awarded to the best male cadet in the Air Training Corps. Flight Sergeant Khawaja’s nomination will now go to North Region for further inspection. Good luck.

Greater Manchester Nijmegen Team

Flight Sergeant Khawaja and Sergeant McCrudden have been selected to be part of Greater Manchester Wings Nijmegen team. They will travel to Holland during summer. This is a fantastic opportunity as Nijmegen is the world’s most common road march. The team will march 100 miles in 4 days. Good luck to you all!

Recently, Cadet Mansouri was awarded a flying scholarship through Tayside Aviation up in Dundee as part of her commitment to the Air Training Corps. In the first two days of her scholarship she had the pleasure to meet Group Captain Carol Vorderman.

11 cadets from 184Squadron have raised a massive £985.75 bag packing at Tesco for SSAFA. The Squadron is 1 quarter into it's charity raising target for the year already! Keep up the hard work.

184's Morris Trophy Achievement

In 2014 184 Squadron achieved the Morris Trophy. The Morris Trophy is awarded to the 2nd best Squadron in the Air training Corps. The Squadron was awarded this outstanding achievement by Air Commodore Dawn McCafferty. We are very proud as a squadron and we hope to achieve the Lees Trophy in the forthcoming years.
