From the 26th September – 9th October, I was given an amazing opportunity to partake in the prestigious ACPS Flying Scholarship at Tayside Aviation, Dundee. The course consists of 2 weeks of flying, with the intentions of potentially flying solo, and gaining 12 hours in the air, which can be contributed towards a Private Pilots License.more -->

On the 3rd-5th March 2017 around 30 cadets took part in the Junior Non-Commissioned Officer (JNCO) Course at 2388 (Castleford) Squadron to improve their leadership skills. Cadets Corey Webley (16) and Faith Tonks (15), 2 cadets from Castleford Squadron, took part in the weekend, where they took part in leadership training, drill and inspection. On Sunday 12th of February there was a fire at the Church of Ascension in Salford. Witnessing the glow of the fire from his home, Corporal Liam Cole went outside to investigate. On noticing it was his local church he reacted and rushed to the church. Arriving before the emergency services, Corporal Cole took charge of the situation and established a safe distance for onlookers of the fire.more -->

In November 2016, RAF Air Cadets from 2200 (Oldham) Squadron undertook a sponsored remembrance to formally mark the 100th Anniversary of the end Battle of the Somme.
